You're right. The Giants do have marketing rights in the area. One of their minor league teams plays down there. If I was the owner of the A's, I'd try and move them to SJ. I think they're lease is up at the colisuem in Oakland in 2007. I was in SJ last night and seen a number of flyers posted on restaurant windows about signing a petition, and getting a major league team down there.

I'm sure some of San Jose's businesses took a major hit by the cancellation of hockey this season. I know the Sharks brought a lot of people into the downtown area for the games.
